The apartment is in Austrian and Tyrolean style and gives the feeling of a mountain hut, with mountain maps on the wall, lots of wood, and old Austrian cupboards. Enjoy an active holiday on Lake Achensee and relax in this spacious, sunny holiday home with large balconies.
There are four spacious rooms with an Austrian atmosphere. Each room has two beds: four bedrooms with four king beds in total.
A livingroom with a kitchen where you can sit comfortably and enjoy the view from the large balcony.
Three bathrooms with shower and toilet. One bathroom has a bathtub to relax in after an adventurous day.
In the summer you can swim in the lake or make endless mountain tours that start at Haus Alpenfriede. The Rofan ski lift is in the backyard, the most popular summer lift in Tirol, taking you straight to the Erfurter Hütte, the start of many high alpine tours and Klettersteig routes.

Trekking from hut to hut on a multi-day adventure, or start easy with a day hike to the Erfurter Hütte from the backyard of Alpenfriede. Have lunch at the Buchauer Alm.
Starts in Pertisau and gives access to the Zwölferkopf area (950–1,500 m) and the eastern edge of the Nature Park Karwendel with the Bärenkopf (1,991 m) and Stanserjoch (2,102 m).
Just minutes from the bottom station in Maurach you reach the top station at 1,840 m, the start of over 150 km of well-marked trails for all levels, with breathtaking views for the whole family.
Lake Achensee has the right thermals and infrastructure: light southerly wind in the morning, strong northerly wind (3–5 Bft) in the afternoon. Everything surfers of all abilities need.
183 km of marked running trails along the lakeshore, in the Karwendel valleys and in the mountains, from easy flat routes to steep fell runs. Highlights: the run around the entire lake, the Achensee Lauf, and the Karwendelmarsch, the classic 52 km mountain run from Pertisau over the Karwendel to Innsbruck.

The highest waterfall on Lake Achensee. The water plunges more than 60 meters down. Most impressive after the snow melts in early summer. One hour walk from the parking area; a difficult via ferrata runs right next to it.
Two summits that both start in the backyard of Haus Alpenfriede. The Rotspitze (visible from the house) has an exciting final stretch; the Rofanspitze is a wonderful trip anyone can make from the Erfurter Hütte.
Strandbad: 5,000 m² sunbathing lawn right on the lake with playground, children's pool, diving tower, volleyball and snacks. Rent a SUP with your smartphone in Pertisau, or an electric or pedal boat at Seepromenade 36.
The 5-summit klettersteig in the Rofan mountains: two kilometres long, one of the longest in the Alps, leading over the Haidachstellwand (2,192 m), Rosskopf (2,246 m), Seekarlspitze (2,261 m), Spieljoch (2,236 m) and Hochiss (2,299 m).
Around 100 different routes graded 2 to 8, most checked and maintained yearly to ensure they are safe.
Tubing is like rafting but you sit in your own "boat": a special tube on which you float down the river, steered with a paddle or your palms. Two tours near the Achensee: family tubing (from 10 years, stops at beautiful bays, swimming and cliff jumping) and tubing with cataracts (from 16 years, more speed and water power). Both tours start at Gasthaus Marie in Achenwald.
Ride the 1889 steam train from Jenbach to Seespitz in Maurach, then continue with a panoramic boat cruise on Lake Achensee. Train and boat run in conjunction with minimal transfer times.
A breathtaking flying experience: soar down 200 metres from the Gschöllkopf (2,040 m) with the Skyglider AIRROFAN, reaching 80 km/h, shaped like an eagle.
Cycle in the Karwendel area to mountain huts like the Feilalm or the Pletzachalm. Fun day trips, easily accessible even with children.

The amazing Wolfsklamm Gorge in Stans is accessed via beautiful wooden boardwalks, bridges and 354 steps. Or play the 18-hole champion "Leading Golf Course" in Pertisau with marvellous lake views.
Three family ski areas very close by, and the famous Zillertal ski valley a 15-minute drive away. Many ski mountaineering tours, such as climbing the Rofanspitze or the Bärenkopf, plus 4 different Rodelbahn tracks around the Achensee.
Small-scale and versatile ski areas with plenty of wide slopes, ideal for families, beginners and returners. Christlum (Achenkirch), the Rofan cable car (Maurach) and the Karwendel cable car (Pertisau) together offer 53 km of slopes and 28 ski lifts. Rofan is directly behind Haus Alpenfriede: a 1-minute drive or ski bus away, and with enough snow you can ski back to the house.
A much larger area than the Achensee, and close by: the first ski lift of the Zillertal is a 16-minute drive. In total 180 ski lifts and 544 km of slopes, with 80 huts perfect for lunch or après-ski.
SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is one of the largest and most modern ski resorts in the world. The lift in Itter (31-minute drive) gives direct access to 83 ski lifts and 270 km of runs. Plan your own ski round at skiwelt.at. Or drive on to Kirchberg for direct access to Kitzbühel and surroundings (49 lifts, 234 km of pistes).

Haus Alpenfriede has its own ski room for guests, with a boot dryer for up to 12 pairs. All helmets and skis can be stored here after a day of skiing, ready for the next day of adventure.
The ski bus stop is 150 meters away, in front of the Hotel Huber Hochland. It runs approximately every 30 minutes in the morning and hourly during the day.
There are good ski schools in the Achensee area for children and adults. In high season, the Van Vloten family helps out at the Buslehner ski school in Achenkirch.
Haus Alpenfriede provides 4 wooden sleds for all guests. There are 5 nice rodel runs nearby. One starts right in the backyard, made by the municipality of Maurach, with lights at night. Also fun: the Rodlhütte in Pertisau and the Wednesday rodel night in Achenkirch.
The Rofan and Karwendel mountains offer a multitude of options for ski touring. Plan your backcountry adventures with the interactive tour planner, armed with touring skis, skins and an avalanche pieper.
One of Tirol's most renowned Nordic skiing centres: about 220 km of groomed trails through stunning landscape, with flat sections along the lakeshore and challenging trails in the Karwendel valleys. Separate tracks for classic and skate skiing.
